Villa Framing was started by Leonard Villa in 1982. He revolutionized the art and craft of frame-making as he alone understood that the art world deserved a more sophisticated frame. A frame that needed to be handcrafted, with real depth of finish. He re-invented the lost art of water gilding and went on to invent the folded-edge Perspex frame and the coloured edge-lit Perspex frame, much favoured by Andy Warhol.
Leonard Villa has always been at the epicenter of creative work at an international level, advising and consulting to the top artists, dealers, museums and galleries around the world.
From their studios in London and Essex, they produce work of the highest standard.
With a group of leading specialists assembled and trained by Lenny to produce work that he believes will give the ultimate service to his very discerning and important customers. The passion that inspired Lenny in 1982 still drives him to produce work with levels of hand-crafting that far exceed the efforts of his rival framemakers. By close consultation with his customers, Lenny helps them to achieve the right frame that will enhance their picture. The right frame for a picture is the essence of a Villa frame.
